Animal Care Team
Do you love animals? Would you like to work hands-on directly with our pets? Fermanagh Fun Farm would love to hear from you. We are looking for volunteers to work with our staff and animals, both individually and as a team on a rota basis ideally at least 1 day per week. The ideal candidate will have to have a real passion for animals and their welfare and a hands-on, approach since the roles include playing, handling, cleaning and feeding the animals on site. Positions will be delegated according to age and ability and of course, full training will be given. We can take volunteers from aged 14+. General Assistant
Role Overview
As a Volunteer General Assistant at Fermanagh Fun Farm, you will play a key role in creating a fun, safe and welcoming environment for all our visitors. You will support staff with daily farm activities, help care for animals, and assist in delivering memorable experiences such as pet handling, pony walking, lamb bottle feeding and birthday parties. You will also help maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and animal welfare across the farm.
Key Responsibilities

Welcoming visitors and providing friendly, helpful customer service

Assisting staff with supervised animal activities, including:

Pet handling sessions

Pony walking and grooming

Lamb bottle feeding

Supporting the setup and running of children’s birthday parties and special events

Helping to keep the farm clean, tidy and presentable, including indoor and outdoor areas

Assisting with basic animal care tasks as directed by staff

Following all Health & Safety (H&S) procedures and farm rules at all times
-
Ensuring visitor safety, especially around animals and play areas
-
Reporting any safety concerns, hazards or animal welfare issues to staff promptly


Maintenance Team
Role Overview
As a Maintenance Volunteer at Fermanagh Fun Farm, you will play a vital role in helping to keep the farm safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for all visitors. This hands-on role involves a variety of practical tasks that support the upkeep, appearance, and development of the farm and its facilities.
Key Responsibilities

Painting and general upkeep of buildings, fences, and equipment

Maintaining the grounds, including planting, grass cutting, and general landscaping
-
Assisting with fencing repairs and installation
-
Helping to build, repair, and maintain play equipment
-
Setting up and preparing activity areas for visitors and events
-
Keeping all areas clean, tidy, and safe, including power washing pathways and outdoor surfaces
-
Carrying out general maintenance tasks as needed to support the day-to-day running of the farm
Committee Member
Role Overview
The Committee Member supports the planning, organisation, and delivery of events and fundraising activities. This role focuses on creating engaging seasonal events and helping decorate the farm or venue for key celebrations throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Organisation

Assist with planning and organising community and seasonal events

Help coordinate event schedules, activities, and logistics

Support event setup and pack-down on the day

Work collaboratively with other committee members and volunteers
Seasonal Decorating

Help plan and set up decorations for seasonal events including:

Easter (e.g. egg hunts, spring themes)
-
Halloween (e.g. pumpkins, spooky trails, costumes)
-
Christmas (e.g. lights, trees, festive displays)
-

Assist with sourcing, creating, storing, and maintaining decorations
-
Ensure decorations are safe, tidy, and suitable for visitors
Fundraising Ideas & Activities

Contribute creative fundraising ideas

Help organise and run fundraising activities during events

Support stalls, raffles, competitions, and themed activities
-
Assist with promoting fundraising events within the community
General Committee Duties

Attend committee meetings when possible

Share ideas and feedback to help improve events

Support other committee tasks as needed
