General Information
Do you love animals? Would you like to work hands-on directly with our pets? Fermanagh Fun Farm would love to hear from you. We are looking for 6 volunteers to work with our staff and animals, both individually and as a team on a rota basis ideally at least 1 day per week. The ideal candidate will have to have a real passion for animals and their welfare and a hands-on, approach since the roles include playing, handling, cleaning and feeding the animals on site. Positions will be delegated according to age and ability and of course, full training will be given. Under 17's must be accompanied by an adult. Pets Best Friend
The role of a PBF is to spend time with the animals, playing, petting, cuddling and even reading and talking to them so they feel part of a real family, where humans and animals give each other love and companionship. There will also be training provided for you to be able to train our animals to play and socialise.
Pets House Keeper
As a PHK you will be making sure the animal's bedding and all areas in their enclosures are cleaned every day. You will also ensure they have fresh food and water and accurately fill the daily task complete chart while reporting any concerns immediately to the animal care manager.
Pets General Assistant
The role of a PGA includes but is not limited to, helping when organising and setting up events, promoting and raising awareness about the activities at the farm to the public at local pet shops, fairs, etc. And of course, helping the PBFs and PHKs if possible, to ensure all our pets have the quality of life we strive to give them and they deserve. As well as maintaining a safe and fun environment at the farm for everyone to enjoy. your role involves engaging with the public during visits such as pet handling, grooming, and walking. Also, volunteers have the option of leading tours.
